Your home doesn’t need more ideas. It needs a clear plan.

  • Maybe your living room feels cramped even though it isn’t small.
  • Maybe the furniture never seems to sit properly.
  • Maybe toys, storage and family life have gradually taken over the room.
  • Or perhaps you know what style you like, but you’re worried about spending money on the wrong sofa, colour or layout.

I work with busy families who want their homes to feel calmer, more organised and more considered, without designing a show home that only works when nobody actually lives in it.

My approach combines architectural space planning with colour, materials and interior design, so we solve how the room works first, then make it beautiful.

Interior design for real family homes in Nottingham

Family homes have to work hard.

A living room might need to be somewhere to relax, watch TV, store toys, entertain friends and spend time together — all in the same space.

Children’s bedrooms need storage, sleep, play and eventually homework space.

Open-plan rooms can look fantastic on a floor plan but feel confusing once you start deciding where everything should go.

That is where I can help.

I look at your room as a whole: flow, proportion, furniture placement, storage, colour and how your family actually uses the space.

Named one of Nottingham’s Three Best Rated Interior Designers — three years running

I’m proud to have been recognised as one of Nottingham’s Three Best Rated Interior Designers for three consecutive years: 2023, 2024 and 2025.

For me, the recognition matters because it reflects the things I care about most: professional standards, trust, client experience and creating homes that genuinely work for the people living in them.

See the room before you buy anything

Realistic 3D design lets you test layouts, furniture size, colour and the overall feel of your room before committing to expensive decisions.

That means less guessing, fewer costly mistakes and much more confidence when it is time to buy.

How I can help

You don’t always need a complete interior design service.

Sometimes you need professional direction on one decision. Sometimes the whole layout needs solving. And sometimes you want the entire room designed for you.

That is why I offer three levels of help.

Need help choosing furniture and layout?

Choosing furniture is much easier once the layout is right.

Instead of starting with a sofa, cabinet or dining table you love online, I start by looking at:

  • how people move through the room
  • where furniture can realistically fit
  • the correct proportions and scale
  • what needs storing
  • where the focal point should be
  • how different parts of the room need to work together

So if you are looking for help choosing furniture and layout, I can give you a clear plan before you start spending.

Family living room design

Living rooms are one of the hardest spaces in a family home because they have to do several jobs at once.

You may need space for adults to relax, somewhere for children to play, hidden or accessible toy storage, a television, occasional guests and enough clear floor space for everybody to move comfortably.

I design family living rooms around real routines, not just how the space looks in a photograph.

The aim is a room that feels considered and calm without becoming precious or impractical.

Children’s bedroom design

Children’s rooms change quickly.

A bedroom that works for a five-year-old may need a completely different layout a few years later once homework, hobbies, clothes and growing independence enter the picture.

I can help you make better use of the available space, plan furniture and storage, and create a room that feels personal without needing to start again every couple of years.

Small, awkward and open-plan spaces

You do not need an enormous room to benefit from interior design.

In fact, smaller and awkward spaces are often where proper planning makes the biggest difference.

I can help with:

Small living rooms · awkward layouts · open-plan living/dining spaces · family rooms · bedrooms · children’s rooms · home offices

Interior designer in Nottingham — without the traditional design process

Although I’m based in Nottingham, my interior design service is delivered online.

You send me your room information, photographs, measurements and anything else I need. I then work on the design personally and present the solution digitally.

For many families, this is actually easier than arranging repeated home visits around work, school and family life.

And because the process is online, I can work with you whether you are in Nottingham, elsewhere in the UK or further afield.

Frequently asked questions

Do you visit homes in Nottingham?

My interior design service is primarily delivered online, even for Nottingham clients. You send me the information I need about your room and I work on the design remotely. This keeps the process simple and flexible while still giving you personalised professional design advice.

Can you help with one room only?

Yes. Most of my services are designed around one room at a time. You can start with a single design decision through the £74 Room Design Consultation, have the room planned in 3D, or choose a complete full-room design.

Can you help me choose furniture and layout?

Yes. Furniture placement and room layout are a major part of my work. I can help you work out what should go where, what size furniture will suit the room and which pieces are worth buying before you commit.

How much does interior design cost?

You can currently work with me from £74 for a Room Design Consultation, £350 for 3D Room Design, or from £950 for Full Interior Design. The right option depends on whether you need help with one decision, the layout of the room, or a complete design.

Do I need to know exactly what style I want?

No. You can send me rooms, colours or pieces you like, even if they do not seem to match. Part of my job is to make sense of those ideas and turn them into a coherent direction for your actual home.

Can you work with furniture I already own?

Absolutely. A good design does not automatically mean replacing everything. I can look at what is worth keeping and design the room around existing pieces where it makes sense.

Your room can work better than it does now.

You don’t need to keep rearranging the same furniture, saving more Pinterest images or hoping the next purchase will finally fix the room.

Show me what is not working.

I’ll help you work out the right next step.

Not sure which service you need? That’s fine, tell me about the room and I’ll recommend the right level of help.
